Sven ten Berge

Sven ten Berge started his artistic journey when he was nineteen to learn blacksmithing at the Royal Academy for Arts in Antwerp. He then went on to study Media Design in Zwolle and worked three years in this field. After working in this field he felt it was time to grow further and made the decision to fully devote himself to fine arts. He then left his old life behind and went on to study at the Art Academy Minerva where he graduated top of his class in 2019.

Sven ten Berge’s inspiration derives from personal experiences and urban landscapes. He reimagines visual and emotional aspects of life to transform them into art pieces that are heavily influenced by his experience as a Craftsman and Designer.

The most noticeable aspect of Sven ten Berge’s work is the use of hard contrast, bright colors and kinetic abstraction. These illusions of depth combined with the use of alternative materials build up visually striking compositions. His combination of material, shapes and added titles hint at the story that is presented. With this formula he is inviting the viewer to both explore the visual and narrative aspects of his works.
